Botox for hyperhidrosis
Nowadays, Botox is well known for its treatment for anti-aging, mainly reducing wrinkles, however, it has other effect that can solve your daily problem. Botox can be injected into the skin to treat severe hyperhidrosis. Research has shown that treating excessive sweating of the armpits, hands, feet, and face with Botox is safe and effective. It is a natural, purified protein with the ability to temporarily block the secretion of the chemical which is responsible for giving signals to the body's sweat glands. By blocking, or interrupting, this chemical messenger, botulinum toxin "turns off" sweating at the area where it has been injected. With this treatment, you do not have to worry about compromising your thermoregulation function. While sweating is an essential body function for temperature-control, the underarms hold less than 2% of the body’s sweat glands. The treatment of these sweat glands has no effect on body thermoregulation and compensatory sweating has not beeen a concern. If Botox is not giving correctly, there might be some side effect after its injection. However, patients coming to our clinic have not had any side effects after their Botox injection to treat hyperhidrosis. This is because that our doctors and surgeons have very good knowledge about the anatomy and physiology of human body, and they have very precise control of the dose.
