Liposuction is becoming very popular nowadays, and besides the traditional old-fashioned liposuction, Laser-assisted liposuction is one of the newest liposuction techniques. There are couple brands that are now being used to do this kind of liposuction.

This laser technology used for liposuction produces a burst of energy as it goes into the fatty tissue that liquefies the fat. Almost the same as other liposuction, laser-assisted liposuction requires the use of tumescent solution prior to lipolysis, and standard liposuction to aspirate the liquefied fat. Tumescent solution reduces post-operative pain, bleeding, bruising and swelling. Since it can greatly reduce blood loss during liposuction, blood transfusion is usually no needed during or after the procedure. The doctor injects the solution into the areas of the body where you have excess fat. This solution makes it much easier for the liposuction cannula to move around under the skin, and remove fat.

The laser energy is delivered by a thin laser fiber that is inserted through small incisions in the skin. In addition to breaking up fat cells, the laser energy also heats other tissues. Possible side effects include, but are not limited to, swelling, bruising, burns, numbness and minimal bleeding.
